On January 4, millions of Americans tuned in to watch the historical premiere of ABC’s “The Bachelor.” Season 25 launched with a bang as the show’s first ever Black lead had women and men across the country getting giddy in front of their televisions on Monday. The handsome Matt James was just as exciting to watch as the location he was standing in itself — The Nemacolin Resort.

Pandemic-related delays and reshuffling didn’t stop the franchise show from shooting. It just made it more creative as they gathered to fight the good fight as a production by landing at a perfect place to film the new series. During a premiere party last night in Pennsylvania, hotel staff and supporters gathered for a socially-distanced soiree to celebrate the work of the crew and the family-owned hotel team.

Guests collected in the majestic Marquis Ballroom in masks surrounded by stunning art by local artist Claire Hardy and lively music. Viewing pods were beautifully decorated with stunning flower arrangements and plush seating. The décor lived up to the five star standards of the luxury property.

Welcoming attendees was the grand hostess and owner of The Nemacolin, the legendary Maggie Hardy Knox. She warmly gave elbow bumps and expressed her gratitude to the entire room. Before the episode aired, the star of the show appeared in a recorded statement on the individual screens in each party bubble.

“I don’t know how I will be able to repay that gratitude that I feel for you all. I am going to be forever grateful for this experience. This place is always going to have a special place in my heart. The lengths that you have gone to make it such a special experience will never be forgotten,” said James in regards to what it took for a hotel staff to help put on a production in the midst of a pandemic.

Attendees sat six feet apart and enjoyed libations and delicious delight bites as they toasted the incredible accomplishment. They cheered on an American business helping bring joy to fans all while keeping 900 employees fully working in a safe and thriving environment.

An incredible thing was accomplished and should be admired. Diversity on a show was celebrated all while a hotel in the heart of the country was able to keep going. The beauty of the resort and the commitment to make the best of the situation is a fantastic spirit that rumbles with joy and bliss.

Perhaps a few contestants went home last night on the premiere episode, but everyone who works at this iconic countryside location took home a million red roses in the heart-shaped form of hope. Hope for better days. Hope for business to continue to thrive. And hope that we some day soon get back to normal. Here is to continuation of dreams and success stories coming true.
